Once there, you have a chance to cook popular local foods over an open fire, and search for wild herbs in the forest. Join us for a day at a mountain hut, just like it used to be in the olden days!

All children staying at the Rupertus get to enjoy a day at a mountain hut accompanied by their parents for free with the Löwen-Alpin-Card. We will be glad to take care of signing you up through the tourist office.

Rupertus Family Hike to the Birnbachloch (ca. 2.5 hour hike)

In July and August during the summer, our vitality trainer and our childcare specialist Kathi lead this popular family hike once a week.

The bigger kids hike with their parents and Hans to Birnbachloch natural monument. (about a 1.5 hr. walk). In the meantime, Kathi will work with the small children down in beautiful Ullachtal to build a campfire. They will collect wood, and also build a dam in the waters of the Birnbach. When the hikers return, we will grill hot dogs and homemade "stick bread" together over the open campfire. A wonderful holiday experience for big and small!

Family hike to Berggasthof Jufen along the Schlawuzel Path (ca. 2 hour walk).

You begin by enjoying a pleasant ride on the Dorfjet lift from Maria Alm to the Natrun area. Located there is one of the most beautiful forest ropes courses in our region.

After a hike up taking only about 5 minutes, you will come to the Schlawutzel Children's Tree Path, which is made up of 11 challenge stations ranging from 50 to 100 cm above the ground. The course is available for children ages ca. 2 to 8 to enjoy for free. An adult should always be present to supervise.

Afterwards, you will hike for about an hour to Berggasthof Jufen. Several paths lead out there, some of which you can even tackle pushing a pram. The route is also very do-able for small children, as well as for parents carrying kids in a pack, with no long climbs to contend with.

Berggasthof Jufen captivates with its great views of the Steinernes Meer massif. For children, it's like a piece of paradise that includes a great playground and wildlife feeding station, while for the older children there is also an archery course (registration required).

After a rest stop and however the mood takes you, you can enjoy a walk lasting about 1 hour, which will bring you back down to the car park for the Natrun lift.
